Two grapes from different continents walked into our winery and fate decreed the birth of a new wine!
Carmenere originated in the Bordeaux region of France but was largely wiped out during the phylloxera epidemic of the mid-1800s. It secretly found a refuge in the sandy vineyards of central Chile where it has flourished to become that country’s signature grape. We combine rustic carmenere with fruity syrah to produce an elegant wine that blends the best from two continents.
Aromas of Montmorency cherries, dried raspberries, nutmeg, vanilla, & mocha. Medium bodied & smooth across the palate with dried cherry & blackberry on the lingering spicy finish.
